Beverly Ann Kortgard

Beverly Ann Kortgard, age 91, of Starbuck, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at Glenwood Estates in Glenwood, Minnesota.  A private funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart.  The Vicar Gwen Arneson will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, MN

Beverly Ann Kortgard was born on August 30, 1929, in Sacred Heart, Minnesota to Ingvald and Pricsilla (Vogee) Imes.  She grew up near Granite Falls, attended country school, and later graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1947.  She was united in marriage to Marvin Kortgard on June 12, 1948, in Minneapolis.  They made their home on the Kortgard family farm east of Sacred Heart.  Along with helping on the farm, Beverly also worked at Warner Manufacturing several years.  She later worked at Parker Hannifan Manufacturing in Granite Falls until her retirement.  For many years, Beverly and Marvin had a cottage on Lake Minnewaska, and in 2002, they built their home on the lake.  Beverly enjoyed gardening and growing cucumbers for Gredney Foods of Chaska. She also loved collecting Santa Bears, and always had a treat for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Marvin, her sons and their spouses: Vern (and Vicky) Kortgard of Willmar, Jerry (and Kristin) Kortgard of Excelsior, and Del (and Paula) Kortgard of Granite Falls, her son-in-law Pete Kuiken of Starbuck; her 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; her sister Joyce Dean of Hutchinson; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jodie, her siblings: Delores Robinson, Lois Seehusen, Jeral Imes, Irvin Imes, and an infant sister.
