The Redwood Valley Cardinals fell to Maple River 22-19 on Friday in week 2 of the High School football season. The Cardinals led 12-7 at the half, but 2 second half touchdowns for Maple River were the difference. Ethan Louwagie threw for 348 yards and 3 touchdowns, Brandon Lang caught 9 passes for 188 yards and Max Fuhr caught 15 passes for 150 yards, but the Cardinals ran for just 6 yards on 13 carries and turned the ball over twice in the losing effort. The Cardinals will host Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial on Friday for their week 3 game.
