A Spicer man was injured Tuesday morning when the semi-truck he was driving swideswiped a garbage truck in La Qui Parle County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Sept. 1 at about 11:31 a.m., a garbage truck driven by Duncan Murdock Schmig, age 20, of Minneota, was northbound on Highway 119. Near County Road 20, east of Madison, Schmig made a left hand turn in front of a southbound Piterbilt semi being driven by Anthony David Levitz, age 30, of Spicer. The vehicles swideswiped each other, causing damage to each.

Levitz was transported to the Dawson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, along with a passenger, Ruben Lopez, age 33, of Leblen, South Dakota.

The Laq Qui Parle County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
