Shed fire starts due to construction work near Danube

A shed fire was started by construction work near Danube Wednesday.

On June 16, at about 3:44 p.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office answered a 911 call reporting a structure fire at a residence owned by Paul and Kelly Besendorf, at the 81000 block of County Road 1, about a mile south of Danube.

The preliminary investigation revealed the fire began on the southwest side of the shed. The cause of the fire was due to construction work being done at the time.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Danube Fire Department, Danube MRU, Olivia Fire Department, and Olivia Ambulance.
