Montevideo man arrested Thursday for possession of nearly a pound of heroin

Law enforcement turned up nearly a pound of heroin in a Montevideo home on Thursday morning. As a result, Luis Enrique Leal, age 27, of Montevideo was arrested on charges of First Degree Possession and First Degree Possession – Intent to Sell.

Early in the morning of Jan. 9, the Montevideo Police Department and the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force conducted a search warrant in Montevideo, at 715 Kingman Street. During the search, law enforcement found about an ounce of cocaine, an ounce of marijuana, and nearly a pound of heroin with a street value of nearly $91,000.
