A Milan man, Jesse Martin Bendickson, age 39, was sentenced in Redwood County Court this month for fleeing deputies in a stolen vehicle with a revoked drivers license.

According to court documents, on Feb. 17 of this year, a Redwood County deputy was on patrol near County Road 4 and Ocean Avenue. At about 8:o7 p.m., he noticed a southbound vehicle with no license plate lights, drifting over the road’s fog lines. The deputy activated his squad lights. The vehicle slowed down for a few seconds, then took off, fleeing eastward on County Roads 24 and 2 at speeds up to 120 miles per hour. Dispatch reported the vehicle had been stolen out of Chippewa County.

The suspect vehicle finally lost control on 240th Street and rolled into a ditch, landing on its passenger side. A check of the driver’s license revealed it had been revoked.

On April 4, Jesse Martin Bendickson was sentenced for felony receiving stolen property and felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle to a total of 15 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, stayed for three years, 80 days local confinement, three years supervised probation, and fines and fees of $1,405.
