Forty-three individuals will receive the top FFA Agricultural Proficiency Awards during this week’s virtual State FFA Convention; Students have each developed specialized skills through Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) working with their high school agriculture instructors. 

The proficiency areas correspond to career pathways related to agriculture. 

Award winners were chosen from FFA members who advanced from regional competitions held across the state. 

Locally they include:

Agricultural Education, Morgan Hoffman of Sleepy Eye

Agriscience Research-Plant Systems, Alexis Starnes of Red Rock Central

Goat Production, Noah Richert of Springfield

Outdoor Recreation, Hannah Clennon of Redwood Valley

Sheep Production, Mikayla Opatz of Springfield

Speciality Animal Production, Colby Schroeder of Redwood Valley. 

The Minnesota State FFA Convention is going virtual in 2020 and kicks off later today.
