The following is a summary of the County Board meeting held December 15, 2020:

  • Approved the agenda, Abstract of Bills, December 1st minutes.
  • Reviewed the November 2020 Jail Population.
  • Approved the 2021 Law Enforcement Contract with the City of Wabasso for 15 hours per week at $40/hour.
  • Approved R & B bills in the amount of $32,929.37.
  • Approved final payment of CMP 20-PM to Traffic Marking Service.
  • Adopted Resolution to extend an agreement with Alan Forsberg to provide Project Engineering Services for the CSAH 101 Bridge Reconstruction Project.
  • Approved the Cash Balance Report, Investment Summary, Budget Reports and November 2020 Disbursements.
  • Authorized A/T to pay approved claims through 12-31-20.
  • Adopted resolution authorizing A/T to make electronic funds transfer in 2021.
  • Adopted resolution authorizing A/T to pay incidental expenses upon presentation of a properly itemized and verified bill in 2021.
  • Adopted resolution to establish fund balance policy.
  • Approved the permanent transfer of the Ditch Bond Interest Fund to the General Fund and to designate the funds as loans for water quality programs per MN Statute 475.61, Subd. 4.
  • Approved to hire BRYMA Designs to photograph Plum Creek Park in the amount of $1,075.00.
  • Johnson presented an overview of the Restorative Justice Department.
  • Authorized the Restorative Justice Department to carryover any remaining 2020 budget dollars to the 2021 budget year.
  • Wold and Netzke presented information regarding establishing a special taxing district for water management projects.
  • Board consensus to begin the process of seeking input on potential special taxing district in Springdale Township.
  • The Board directed Wold to prepare notifications for any meetings to include all parcels which are at least 30% inside the targeted watershed.
  • Approved the 2021 Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Plan for Redwood County.
  • Set a Public Hearing for January 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for a Drone Policy.
  • Approved 2021 liquor and tobacco license renewals.
  • Approved the 2021 County Fee Schedule.
  • Approved the 2021 Solid Waste Hauler License renewals.
  • Approved change orders for the GSB Renovation Project.
  • Awarded Schindler Elevator for Category 22 – Elevators for the Courthouse Security Project.
  • Approved 2021 Budget Amendments.
  • Approved the renewal of the Safe Assure Contract.
  • Approved to hire Dylan Pfeilsticker as FT Deputy Sheriff on the LELS Salary Schedule at Deputy Sheriff Grade/Step 1 at $22.77/hour effective 1-1-21.
  • Approved to hire Tom Borgen as FT Assistant County Attorney on the Non-Union Salary Schedule at Grade 18/Step 6 at $41.92/hour, due to experience, effective 1-4-21.
  • Approved to promote Julie Zimmermann to FT Deputy Auditor-Treasurer on the AFSCME Scale at Grade 13, Step 6 at $28.53/hour.
  • Acknowledged the resignation of Austin Watkins from FT Deputy Sheriff effective December 7, 2020.
  • Approved the Amended COVID-19 Telecommuting Policy.
  • Adopted resolution setting the 2021 salaries of the elected officials.
