Shirley Ann (Wehking) Lund

Shirley Ann (Wehking) Lund, age 90 of Franklin, MN died Saturday, May 6, 2023 at CentraCare – Redwood Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Franklin. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Shirley Ann (Wehking) Lund was born on May 4, 1933 in Meeker County to Mamie (Minnick) Wehking and Carl Fred Wehking. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hector, MN, Brookfield Township. She attended school at District 53 through 8th grade in Cosmos, MN and then went on to Litchfield High School. Shirley Ann was married to Edward M. Lund on November 19, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hector, MN. They were married for 57 years, until his death in 2008. Shirley Ann moved to Franklin, MN in 1951 where Eddie was employed as a mechanic and later farmed and started his own business called Valley Garage. Shirley Ann was a homemaker and mother of seven children and in October of 1980, she started working a job at the MPI/Zytec/Artesyn factory in Redwood Falls, MN, and retired after 21 years in 2001. She was a member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Franklin, MN where she taught Sunday school for 15 years and was very active in the church thereafter until her death. Shirley Ann enjoyed being with family, friends and relatives and liked to travel. She loved to plant a variety of flowers around her home to beautify it. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and always taught them about Jesus Christ our Savior.

Shirley is survived by her children, Debra (David) Allen, Jeffrey (Sandy) Lund, Sheree (Doug) Cox, Carl (Jackie) Lund, Craig Lund, Doreen Lund, Mark (Aileen) Lund; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and sister Loretta. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mamie, husband Edward, one child in infancy, brothers Myron and Milo, and sister Arlene.
