A Mankato man, Jordan Lee Norgaard, age 34, has been sentenced in Redwood County Court for felony and gross misdemeanor drug and driving crimes in Redwood Falls.
According to court documents, on March 7, 2021, Redwood Falls police officers responded to a call about a possibly intoxicated man looking for assistance for his vehicle at an area hotel. Police arrived to find Norgaard trying to hide behind some trees.
Norgaard stated he was having problems with his headlights and had parked in the lot of a nearby business. Norgaard denied being the driver of the car although he was in possession of its keys. Based on training and experience it appeared to the officers that Norgaard was under the influence of methamphetamine.
A quick check showed his drivers license had been cancelled, he was under probation in Blue Earth County, and had convictions for DWI from Lincoln and Lyon Counties.
During a search of the vehicle, officers turned up methamphetamine and marijuana, with various paraphernalia.
On April 3, Jordan Lee Norgaard was sentenced for felony-level controlled substance crime, gross misdemeanor DWI, and gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation to a total of 17 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, stayed for three years, 365 days local confinement, stayed 275 days, three years supervised probation, and fines and fees of $1,015.
