A man was transported by helicopter for injuries received in a stabbing incident in Granite Falls Sunday afternoon.

On April 5, at about 2:03 p.m., the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at a rural Granite Falls residence in the 5400 block of 260th Avenue.

The victim is a 45 year old male.  He was transported to the Avera Granite Falls Hospital and subsequently flown by helicopter to Avera Sioux Falls.  His medical status is unknown at this time.

Two individuals have been taken into custody related to this incident and there is no risk to the public.  No further information is available at this time as the case is still actively under investigation.

Agencies assisting the YMC Sheriff’s Office with this were the Granite Falls Police, Upper Sioux Community Police, MN State Patrol and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
