Franklin man injured Saturday afternoon when ATV rolls

A Franklin man was injured when his ATV rolled over on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 5:48 p.m. on Oct. 23, Mathew Olson, age 26, of Franklin, was eastbound on County Road 2 driving a Polaris ATV. While making an eastbound turn onto 260th Street, Olson lost control of the ATV.

Olson was airlifted to Robbinsdale hospital with life threatening injuries. The Minnesota State Patrol reports that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Morgan ambulance and fire department, CentraCare Ambulance, and North Air Care.
