Renville County HRA/EDA to Host a Child Care Provider Recruitment Event on April 30

(OLIVIA, MN, April 1, 2024)  The Renville County HRA/EDA, in partnership with First Children’s Finance, Renville County Human Services, Southwest Initiative Foundation, and United Community Action Partnership (UCAP), will host a Child Care Provider Recruitment Event on Tuesday, April 30.

“We know that Renville County has a severe shortage of child care slots.  We also know that it can be overwhelming to start your own business.” stated Jordan Zeller, Renville County Economic Development Coordinator.  “This event will allow for those who may be interested in opening their own child care to learn about the licensing process, and also about the financial and supportive resources that are available to child care business owners.”

Event Details:

WHAT: If you love helping kids, bring your spouse or a friend, or come alone, and learn about starting a family child care business.  A complimentary supper will be provided.

  • Hear from a panel of current providers and their experiences.
  • Get answers to your questions about child care licensing.
  • Discover financial and supportive resources available to child care providers.
  • Learn about the benefits of owning your own business.
  • Treat yourself to a beverage and evening out.
  • Win door prizes!
