Willmar man leads deputies on short high-speed chase Thursday

A Willmar man was arrested after leading deputies on a short high-speed chase Thursday evening.
On Dec. 10, at around 7 p.m., a deputy with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a 2006 Gray Ford F-150 for an observed traffic violation. The vehicle failed to stop and continued south on 1st St. from 28th Ave SW. The vehicle then turned around at the intersection of Hwy 71 and 45th Ave. SE and continued North until pulling over at 1st St. and 28th Ave SE. The total distance of the pursuit was less than one mile.
There were no injuries or property damage incurred and speeds were less than 75mph. The male driver, age 27 of Willmar is currently in custody at the Kandiyohi County Jail with charges pending.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Willmar Police Department.
