A Walnut Grove man was killed and two others critically wounded after two vehicles collided in Lyon County Friday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on April 29, Kaw La, age 43, of Marshall, was driving a Toyota pickup northbound  on Highway 23 north of Marshall. At about 8:12 p.m., near the intersection with 300th Street, La collided with a southbound Buick Enclave being driven by Shawn Michael Lemburg, age 29, of Walnut Grove.

La was transported to the hospital in Marshall with non-life threatening injuries, while his passenger, Nay Moo, age 30, of Springdale, Washington, was transported to the hospital in Sioux Falls with life-threatening injuries.

Lemburg suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. His passenger, Joshua Ronald Tolley, age 32, of Walnut Grove, suffered life-threatening injuries, and was transported to the hospital in Sioux Falls.

Alcohol was detected in Kaw La’s system.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Fire Department and Rescue, and North Ambulance all assisted at the scene.
