Unresponsive baby dies despite aid attempts in Yellow Medicine County Thursday
An unresponsive baby died in Yellow Medicine County despite attempts to provide aid Thursday.
On Feb. 8, at about 6:25 a.m., the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an unresponsive infant at the Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort Hotel. Emergency medical responders from the casino security staff, along with the Upper Sioux Community Police Department and the Avera Granite Falls Ambulance, responded to the scene and provided aid.
Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful, and the infant was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The one-month-old infant was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The Upper Sioux Community Police were assisted by Granite Falls Ambulance, Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Office, and the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The case is currently under investigation, no further information is available at this time.
