Two pedestrians were injured Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle.

At about 10:27 p.m. on Jan. 22, Willmar Police learned of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Officers found two injured people lying in the road, receiving first aid from an off-duty Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad member.
Preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrians were walking along the edge of the road on 19th Ave and crossed in front of a westbound 2014 Ford Fusion in the turning lane to go south on 9th St SE.
The driver was a 19 year old male from Willmar. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver is cooperating with the investigation.
The first pedestrian is 37 year old female from Willmar. She was transported by CentraCare Ambulance to Carris Hospital with moderate injuries.
The second pedestrian was a 41 year old male from New London. He was transported by CentraCare Ambulance to Carris Hospital with serious injuries and later airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital. His current condition is unknown.
Willmar Police were assisted by the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Willmar Fire Department, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
The investigation remains ongoing.
