Twin Cities couple arrested for trafficking methamphetamine into southwestern Minnesota
A Twin Cities couple was arrested Tuesday for trafficking methamphetamine into southwestern Minnesota. Over a two week period, the two were caught on separate occasions with almost six pounds of methamphetamine in their residence.
On March 29, the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant in the City of Crystal, in Hennepin County regarding an ongoing investigation into methamphetamine being trafficked into southwestern Minnesota.
During the search warrant, about 3.75 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately 2 grams of powdered fentanyl were seized from the residence, as well as over $4000 in cash believed to be the proceeds of drug sales.
A 47 year old Crystal man and a 39 year old Crystal woman who was not present during the search will be facing 1st Degree Controlled Substances charges when apprehended.
Another search warrant was executed approximately one week prior at the residence and over two pounds of methamphetamine was seized at that time. The 39 year old female was arrested during that incident and had posted a $50,000.00 non-cash bond and was released from custody.
The CEE-VI Task Force was assisted by the Crystal Police Department and the Northwest Metro Drug Task Force.
