Trial preparations in Doucette manslaughter trial underway
Prosecutors and the defense Tuesday finalized the details to select a jury in the upcoming trial of 39-year-old Russell Doucette of Franklin.
The trial begins next Tuesday in Granite Falls after a change of venue was granted due to pre-trial publicity.
Doucette is accused of running over his room mate, Randy Oletzke, at the farm site they shared near Franklin in August of 2017, and leaving Oletzke to die.
Doucette entered into a plea agreement earlier this year, but backed out when he learned he would be facing prison time. He will be tried next week on charges of 2nd Degree Manslaughter and Criminal Vehicular Homicide.
