Spicer woman arrested for firing shots in home Sunday
A Spicer woman was arrested Sunday after reports she was firing a gun in a residence.
At about 5:54 PM on Sunday, June 26th, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired in a home in the 200 block of 5th Ave in Spicer.
Deputies evacuated residents of the house and nearby homes to a safe location, and law enforcement set up a perimeter. After initial attempts to contact the 60-year-old female suspect failed, the Kandi-Meeker SWAT got a response over a loudspeaker system.
The suspect exited the home but was not fully compliant. After the deployment of less lethal impact rounds, the suspect was subdued without further incident.
The suspect is currently in Kandiyohi County Jail, and the case remains under investigation by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.
Assisting the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office were Kandi-Meeker SWAT, Willmar Police Department, and New London Ambulance
