A rural Lake Lillian man was killed when high winds blew down a grain bin in Kandiyohi County Thursday.
On May 12, at about 7 p.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 17000 block of 45th St. SE, Lake Lillian, about a missing adult male in the area of where a large grain bin had just blown over by storms.
Emergency responders arrived and began a search which eventually led to the discovery of the deceased man under the collapsed grain bin. The man was later transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey. The name of the victim will be released after notification of family.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Blomkest Fire Department, Lake Lillian Ambulance, Willmar Fire Department, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Kandiyohi County Emergency Management and the Atwater Police Department.
