Renville Man Killed In Crash Thursday

A Renville man was killed in a crash just before 1 p.m. Thursday morning. Christopher John Novotny, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at Highway 71 and Renville Co Rd 11.

The state patrol says a Ford truck driven by Jeffrey Anthony, 55, of New Ulm, was northbound on Highway 71 and Novotny’s Dodge Intrepid was westbound on Renville Co Rd 11 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection. Anthony was transported to a hospital in Olivia with non-life threatening injuries.

The Renville County Sheriff, Olivia Police, and Olivia Fire/Rescue assisted at the scene.
