Renville, Redwood County crashes among many on icy Minnesota roads this weekend
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, there were over 730 vehicle accidents on Minnesota roads between Friday and Sunday. Seventy-one people were reported suffering minor injuries in those accidents, with one suffering serious injuries in the Twin Cities.
On Sunday evening, Misty Ann Green, age 35, of Lamberton, was driving her 2017 Toyota Rav eastbound on Highway 14 at about 6:22 p.m. Near the intersection of County Road 6, Green’s vehicle collided with a northbound 2001 Freightliner semi driven by Jason Lange Heck, age 39, of Garvin. Green was airlifted to the Sanford Medical hospital in Sioux Falls with believed non-life threatening injuries. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Lamberton Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
Three people were hurt in the crash of two pickups east of Renville Saturday. The state patrol says it happened on Highway 212 during the noon hour Saturday. A pickup driven by 32-year-old Dillon Renneke of Echo was westbound and collided with an eastbound pickup driven by 44-year-old Steve Hupalo of Appleton. Hupalo wasn’t hurt, but his passenger, 34-year-old Karijo Stene of Appleton was taken to RC Hospital in Olivia with non-life-threatening injuries. Renneke and his passenger, 34-year-old Darin Myhre of Renville were also taken to RC Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was snow and ice covered at the time.
