Redwood Falls woman sentenced for exposing child to methamphetamine
A Redwood Falls woman, Baylee Joy Rudland, age 21, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for exposing a child to methamphetamine last year.
According to court documents, on July 20, 2023, Redwood Falls police officers were called to a local convenience store on a unrelated matter. While there, officers spoke with Rudland and a witness. Rudland acknowledged her 11 month old child had chemical burns on her back as a result of contact with methamphetamine residue which had possibly fallen on the carpet upon which the child crawls. Officers immediately called medical personnel to take care of the child.
On April 8, Rudland was sentenced to 12 months, one day in the correctional facility in Shakopee, stayed for five months, local confinement for 90 days, supervised probation for five years, and fines and fees of $335.
