A Redwood Falls woman, Grace Iola Roberta LaBlanc, age 20, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for felony drug possession.
According to court documents, on Jan. 15 of last year a Redwood Falls police officer observed a vehicle turning without using its turn signal. The officer stopped the vehicle, noting what appeared to be an object being passed from the front to the back seat. As the officer approached, he noted several passengers in the back seat, covered with a blanket.
When the officer noted the strong odor of marijuana when he made contact with the juvenile in the front passenger seat. The driver, another juvenile, stated he was aware his turn signals were not operating properly.
A search of the vehicle turned up marijuana in various forms, paraphernalia, prescription pills, and several open bottles of alcohol. The juveniles in the vehicle all denied ownership of any of the drugs or paraphernalia, and claimed it was all owned by LaBlanc.
During a phone call to LaBlanc, she told police officers all the materials were here, and she didn’t have a prescription for the pills.
