A Redwood Falls man, Brandon Lee Jones Sr., age 36, has been sentenced in Redwood County Court for separate counts of illegal drug sales, and of witness tampering.
According to court documents, on Aug. 16, 2022, the Brown Lyon Redwood Renville Drug Task Force oversaw a controlled buy of drugs. A confidential informant bought a gram of fentanyl from Jones, leading to Jones being charged with third degree controlled substance sale.
Ten months later, on June 11, 2023, task force agents became aware of a video from another confidential informant, showing paperwork from Jones’ arrest. Edited into the video was a cartoon picture of a rat, along with the word “Dead”. Jones’ voice on the video indicated he intended to harm or kill the person who “ratted” him out.
Agents also found a photo on Snapchat depicting Jones of himself in jail, along with a message warning the informant to not show up at Jones’ trial to testify.
On March 25, Brandon Lee Jones Sr., was sentenced to 45 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud for the fentanyl sale, and 41 months for felony-level witness tampering.
