A Redwood Falls man, Christopher Keith Loos, age 41, was sentenced for felony assault over an incident from last June.

According to court records, on June 30 the Redwood Falls Police Department learned of an assault that had just occurred in a residence in town. Officers arrived to find the victim bloody and sitting on the curb. The victim stated she had been assaulted by Loos.

The officer interviewed Loos, who admitted the altercation had lasted about a half hour, and that he had put his knee on the victim’s neck or face. A second officer interviewed the victim, who added more details about the altercation. Officers noted blood on Loos’s forearm and hand. At the hospital, it was determined the victim had sustained a fractured cheek and nose.

On Oct. 2, Loos was sentenced for three degree felony assault to 60 days local confinement, three years supervised probation, fines and fees of $285, and domestic abuse counseling.
