A Redwood Falls man, Chad Alan Blood Milhausen, Jr., 29, has been found guilty of failure to register as a predatory offender.

According to Redwood County Attorney Jenna Peterson, Milhausen was required to register as a predatory offender after being convicted in 2016 of criminal sexual conduct. However, last July 6, Redwood Falls Police Officers doing a compliance check at Milhousen’s residence found an unregistered pickup truck parked in the driveway. Offenders are required to register all vehicles they regularly use, but this pickup was not registered.

In addition, investigators learned that law enforcement officers had had four separate contacts with Milhausen in that vehicle between May and July of 2022, proving he had been regularly using it.

Assistant Redwood County Attorney Shannon Ness told the jury in her closing argument, “The primary purpose of the registration requirements are to insure law enforcement can immediately locate a person who is required to register to keep the community safe.”

Milhausen will be sentenced next January 22 at the Redwood County Courthouse.
