Redwood Falls man found guilty of methamphetamine sale to drug task force
A Redwood Falls man, Javier Diaz Garza, age 55, was found guilty in Redwood County Court on Jan. 18 for selling nearly 28 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover agent in 2021.
According to court records and testimony, the sale was arranged earlier in the day of Sept. 15, 2021. The confidential informant, who was working with the Brown Lyon Redwood Renville Drug Task Force, arrived at Garza’s camper parked in a grove at 603 Hilbert Drive, within the City of Redwood Falls.
At about 2 p.m., Garza sold 27.896 grams of methamphetamine for $750 to the confidential informant. After the sale, the informant left the camper, and immediately turned over the methamphetamine to drug task force agents who were supervising and monitoring the operation.
According to Redwood County Attorney Jenna Peterson, the jury deliberated for about 20 minutes before finding Garza guilty of one count of Sale of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree. Garza will be sentenced on March 4 at the Redwood County Courthouse.
