Redwood Falls juvenile taken into custody for making terroristic threats
A Redwood Falls juvenile was taken into custody Monday for allegedly making terroristic threats.
On January 29, at about 6:36 p.m., members of the Redwood Falls Police Department met with a juvenile and the victim’s guardians. The guardians reported information of a threat against the life of the juvenile, as well as a threat to the Redwood Valley Middle School building. The information provided by the guardians was corroborated by the officers.
Shortly afterward, officers met with the juvenile suspect and the suspect’s parents. Afterward, officers took the juvenile suspect into custody on probable cause charges of terroristic threats. As of Tuesday afternoon, the juvenile suspect remains in custody. Due to the ages of the victim and suspect no names are being released at this time.
This investigation is ongoing. However, as of Tuesday afternoon the Redwood Falls Police Department has no information a credible threat remains against the victim or Redwood Valley School District facilities, staff, or student body.
