New Market man injured in Renville County collision of semi trucks

A New Market man was injured when his semi-truck collided with another one in Renville County Monday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Jan. 8 David Duane Schwantz, age 63, was driving a Peterbilt semi truck westbound on an icy Highway 19 At 10:34 a.m., Schwantz’s truck collided with an eastbound Kenworth semi-truck being driven by Day Day Poe, age 26, of Naperville, Illinois.

Schwantz was transported to CentraCare Redwood with non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting on the scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fairfax Fire and Police Departments, and Ambulance.
