Morton woman sentenced in Redwood County Court for meth sale
A Morton woman, Amber Lee Weikert, age 24, has been sentenced in Redwood County court for felony sale of illegal drugs last February.
According to court documents, on Feb. 8, 2021, the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville Drug Task Force was contacted by an individual who stated he had been in contact with Weikert about possibly buying methamphetamine.
A short time later, the task force provided the cooperating individual with funds to buy meth, and fitted him with an electronic recording and transmitting device. The task force drove the individual close to a home in the Redwood-area, where he entered the residence. According to court records, inside the residence Weikert took a baggie with slightly over two grams of methamphetamine from a backpack.
On Nov. 14, Amber Lee Weikert was convicted of controlled substance sale in the third degree. She was sentenced to 90 days local confinement, three years supervised probation, and fines and fees of $335.
