A Montevideo man was arrested after leading a deputy on a high speed chase in Kandiyohi County Friday evening.
On April 30, at about 6:45 p.m., a Kandiyohi County Deputy tried to stop a vehicle near County Road 27 and County Road 5.
When the deputy attempted to get behind the 1999 GMC Yukon, the vehicle accelerated to evade the deputy. A high-speed chase went on for about 4.7 miles and reached speeds over 80 mph.
The Yukon finally stopped on County Road 27, near County Road 9. The driver, a 31-year-old Montevideo man, was taken into custody without further incident. The driver is currently being held in the Kandiyohi County Jail pending formal charges.
