Boyd man injured at Montevideo-area game preserve
A Boyd man received life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, at about 3:48 p.m. on Sept. 22, the office got a 911 call reporting that a person with a gunshot wound was being transported by private vehicle to the Montevideo Hospital and Clinic emergency room.
Deputies arrived to find that James Dean Roth, age 74, from Boyd, was wounded at a private game preserve located at 12080 1st Street W., near Montevideo. Boyd was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center for further treatment.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Montevideo Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol. This incident is under investigation.
