Lynd man dies in Marshall car-semi collision Friday

A Lynd man died in a collision with a semi-truck in Marshall on Friday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Jan. 12, Gary James Snook, age 69, of Lynd, was driving a Dodge Ram northbound on Highway 23, while Taylor Ronald Schmidt, age 30, of Ruthon, was driving a Freightliner truck southbound on Highway 59. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Snook was declared deceased at the scene, while Schmidt reported no injuries.

Assisting on the scene were the Marshall Police and Fire Departments, and North Ambulance.
