The Kandiyohi Co. Sheriff’s Office has taken two reports this week of community members receiving calls from someone impersonating a sheriff’s office staff member, indicating there was a outstanding arrest warrant for them. The caller said that payment could be taken over the phone to clear it up.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office states this is not their procedure, and is a scam.
They ask you be cautious on unsolicited calls, and if you question the authenticity of a caller, hang up and do your own research on a call back number to confirm their identity or the calls legitimacy. Never only trust your caller ID system for confirming authenticity.
