Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responds to numerous icy-road incidents Wednesday morning
On Wednesday morning, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to numerous accidents or motor assists on icy roads. Starting at about 3:30 a.m., deputies responded to sixteen reports of cars stalled or stranded in the southwest portion of the county, and an additional three reports of stranded semi-trucks. No injuries were reported.
At 8:34 a.m., deputies assisted a Minnesota State Patrol trooper who needed assistance at a multiple vehicle crash two miles into Renville County on Highway 71. No injuries were reported during that crash, either.
At 9:12 a.m., Kandiyohi County deputies responded to an injury crash in Spicer after an armored vehicle hit a light pole because of poor weather conditions. The driver, Hector Hoppe, age 46, of Albany, had minor injuries and was treated by the Spicer First Responders.
At the same time, 9:12 a.m., deputies responded to Tri-County Road NE where a juvenile driver lost control of his vehicle, and rolled it onto the roof. No injuries were reported.
