Former Walnut Grove man sentenced for not registering as a predatory offender
A former Walnut Grove predatory offender, Richard Aaron Lee, age 29, was sentenced in Redwood County court for changing his address but not updating law enforcement.
According to court documents, on March 25 of last year, a Redwood County Sheriff’s Office deputy went to check on Lee at his last known address, in Walnut Grove. A witness at that address told the deputy that Lee had moved out several weeks earlier without informing law enforcement. Further investigation showed that Lee had moved to a relative’s residence in Oildale, California.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Kern County Sheriff’s Office in California, who were able to confirm that Lee was living at the reported address there.
On Nov. 13 Lee was sentenced for felony knowingly failing to register as a predatory offender to 31 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, and fines and fees of $135.
