Fog, icy roads cause five separate Kandiyohi County crashes Thursday morning
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office is reporting no one was seriously injured in any of the five separate crashes that occurred in the county Thursday morning. Between 6:40 a.m. and 8:26 a.m. on Nov. 4, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to five crashes caused in part due to reduced visibility as well as road conditions from the morning fog.
Two separate crashes within 20 minutes of each other occurred at Co Rd 25 and Co Rd 5, just north of Willmar. At approximately 6:40 a.m. and again at 6:58 a.m., vehicles failed to stop at the stop sign on Co Rd 25 and entered the ditch off Co Rd 5.
At about 7:54 a.m., a crash was reported on the bridge of 15th Ave SE over the Hwy 23 bypass involving a single vehicle losing control due to road conditions and struck the bridge.
At 8:12 a.m., a single vehicle hit and ran into a mailbox was reported in the area of the 3600 block of 113th Ave NE in Green Lake Township.
Fourteen minutes later, at about 8:26 a.m., a two vehicle crash was reported in the 5900 block of Co Rd 40 NW in Lake Andrew Township .
No injuries were reported during any of the crashes. Assisting the sheriff’s office were the Minnesota State Patrol and Kandiyohi County Public Works.
