A Drug Task Force found a meth lab and weapons in rural home near Cottonwood on Thursday.

On Thursday, Sept. 17,  the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at a rural residence in Yellow Medicine County near Cottonwood.
During the search of the residence, Task Force Agents located a suspected liquid methamphetamine conversion lab and recovered approximately 3.55 pounds of methamphetamine in various stages of the conversion process. Task Force members also found the chemicals and pieces of equipment commonly used to convert the liquid methamphetamine into crystal form.
Also located in the residence during the search was a Molotov cocktail type of incendiary device which was later disposed of by the Bloomington Bomb Squad.
In addition, Bay West Environmental Services was contacted to assist with the cleanup and disposal of the chemical products found inside the residence. The CEE-VI Task Force was assisted by the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office and this case is still under investigation.
