Drivers collide near Danube Friday morning

Two drivers collided but were uninjured near Danube on Friday morning.

On Friday, January 24, at about 7:46 a.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Renville County Road 1 and Renville County Road 4, about miles south of Danube. The caller reported both drivers were out of the vehicles.

The preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2009 Toyota Corolla, driven by 35 year old Taylor Schmidt of Dell Rapids, SD was traveling eastbound on County Road 4. The driver stopped for the stop sign and entered the intersection. The vehicle collided with a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 63 year old Allen Larson of Redwood Falls, that was traveling northbound on Renville County Road 1. Schmidt and Larson were both wearing their seatbelt and were uninjured.

Assisting on scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and Danube Fire Department.
