The Redwood County Board has approved over $1.2 million in CARES Act funding grants to Redwood County businesses being hurt by the state’s business shut-downs and stay-at home orders. One hundred and thirty-nine for-profit and non-profit businesses across Redwood County will be receiving federal funding distributed through the Redwood County Economic Development.

At a Thursday, Sept. 24 meeting, the county board approved a resolution to expend CARES Act funding to recipients of the Redwood County COVID Small Business Relief Grant Program in the amount of $1,236,974.00.

Earlier this year, Redwood County received $1.9 million in CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds from the Federal Government. One  of the points of the funding was to provide financial assistance to businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
