City of Redwood Falls receives $1 million+ state grant for new industrial park infrastructure
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) announced Friday that the proposed new busness park for Redwood Falls, “Reflection Ridge”, has received a state grant for slightly over $1 million to help pay upcoming infrastructure costs.
The total cost of the new streets and utilities is estimated at $2,352,903. The city of Redwood Falls was awarded $1,063,951 to assist with constructing new streets and utilities within a new industrial park. The first phase of the park will include 20 acres and 3 lots. The city estimates the park will allow $3.9 million in private investment and create 50 new jobs.
Under the grant program, DEED awards 50% of eligible capital costs for qualifying public infrastructure projects, such as streets, wastewater collection and treatment, drinking water, storm sewers, and more.
The Redwood Falls was part of about $2.3 million in grants for infrastructure projects in four towns in Greater Minnesota. The other projects are in Brooten, Luverne, and International Falls.
