Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Schools COVID-19 Related Announcements

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Schools in accordance with the Governor’s executive order will be closed March 18th-27th in order to put together equitable distance learning plans in the event of an extended closure due to COVID-19. The district will communicate our distance learning plan by no later then March 27th, 2020 through our parent portal and school website.

Childcare for Emergency Workers and First Responders: No Cost

Childcare will be provided to children ages 4-12 of emergency workers and first responders. Please contact Eileen in the district office if you have questions about whether or not you meet this criteria and would like to have access to this child care. You will be asked to show either your staff badge or provide a letter from your employer. Verification is needed prior to childcare being provided. Childcare care will be provided from 7:45-3:45, Monday-Friday. Children should be dropped off and picked up at the District Office Main Door #5. If there are transportation needs, please indicate that when requesting child care. Students will receive breakfast and lunch. Child care needs must be communicated by 12:00 (noon) the previous day in order to accommodate for adequate staffing and child care needs.

Grab and Go Breakfast and Lunch:

Please contact the administrative assistant at your child’s school or Eileen in the district office at 320-833-5311 ext. 242 if you would like to receive a grab and go breakfast/lunch. Meals are available to all students. Contact each day needs to be made by 9:00 AM for planning purposes. If there are any accommodations needed (nutritional or transportation-related) please reach out to Eileen in the district office. The food will need to be picked up between 11:00AM-12:00PM or delivered if needed.

Hector Location: First Lutheran Church of Hector (220 5th Street West)

Buffalo Lake Location: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake (228 5th Street NW)

Stewart Location: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Stewart (300 Croydon Street)

iPad Access for K-6 Students:

Buffalo Lake Hector-Stewart Public School will provide access to online instruction for our students during Distance Learning through the use of iPads. More information will be forthcoming to families of students in grades K-6 to pick up iPads on Monday, March 23rd, when plans are finalized.
