Bird Island residents injured in car/semi collision on Highway 212
Two residents of Bird Island were injured when their vehicle and a semi truck collided on Highway 212 on Friday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on April 19, Laura Ann Berg, age 37, of Bird Island, was driving a Nissan Rogue westbound on Highway 212. Near Acorn Avenue in Mcleod County, she attempted to make a U-turn, and her vehicle was crashed into by a westbound Freightliner Cascadia, being driven by Charles Joseph Dzurenka, age 56, of Winsor, Conn.
Berg was transported to the hospital in Glencoe with non-life threatening injuries, as was her passenger, Behlen Dennis Berg, age 3.
Assisting on the scene were the Mcleod County Sheriff’s Office, MNDoT, and Allina Ambulance.
