Elizabeth Lynch

Bail has been set at $500,000 for a Hector woman accused of shooting her boyfriend to death last week.

Elizabeth Lynch, age 35, appeared in Renville County District Court in Olivia Monday on charges of 2nd Degree Murder and 2nd Degree Manslaughter for the killing last Thursday of 42-year-old Anthony Tebben at the home the two shared in Hector.

Judge Dwayne Knutsen set unconditional bail at half-a-million dollars, or $200,000 with conditions. Lynch’s next court appearance will be an omnibus hearing April 24th at 10 a.m.

According to the criminal complaint, Lynch claims she shot Tebben by accident in the head with a newly purchased handgun after he threw a plate at her early Thursday morning. Tebben died later in the day at Hennepin County Medical Center.

There were an undisclosed number of children present in the house at the time of the shooting and they were taken into protective custody.
