Bad news and good news about fatal disease spread in Minnesota this week
The Minnesota Department of Health has bad news and good news about the spread of various fatal diseases in the state over the past week.
Nine more flu-related deaths, two of them children, were reported in Minnesota, while 366 people were hospitalized with influenza complications as of last Saturday. Flu activity remains high, although the number of outbreaks in Minnesota schools dropped to about half of the previous week.
On a more positive note, the Center for Disease Control states that a possible fourth coronavirus case in the state came back with negative test results. The suspected patient had recently traveled abroad. There are no pending cases of suspected coronavirus with the Minnesota Department of Health, and no confirmed cases in Minnesota.
