Minnesota continues to break records, as COVID-19 infections rise, and more deaths are reported throughout the state.
On Thursday, health officials reported 39 new COVID-19 deaths, including ones in Redwood and Le Sueur Counties, both involving people in their 80s. Redwood County’s total death toll, according to the state, is now at 14.
The Minnesota Department of Health reports that 1,128 people have been hospitalized with the virus over the last seven days, including 209 admitted to intensive care.
MDH also reported 7,228 new cases of the virus, a new single-day record. That pushes Minnesota’s official number of positive cases since the pandemic began to 201,795.
