As part of a plea agreement, Zane Peterson, age 32, of Spicer, will be sentenced to more than 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to raping a Winona woman two years ago. Formal sentencing is set for Feb. 10.
Peterson had been charged with 18 criminal counts including criminal sexual conduct and burglary for the incident. On Nov. 20 he pleaded guilty to 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct Causing Great Bodily Harm, and the remaining counts were dismissed.
The plea agreement states Pederson will serve a 250 month prison sentence. He admitted breaking into the victim’s home on Nov. 18, 2018 and raping her, and threatening to kill the victim’s child if she told police.
Pederson also faces Kandiyohi County charges accusing him of sexually molesting a man at a group home where Pederson worked in Willmar on Christmas Day 2018.
