Quigley fails to enter plea in Willmar firearm assault case

Justin Quigley

A Willmar man arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at police officers last month made his initial appearance in Kandiyohi County District Court Wednesday.

Police say 40-year-old Justin Quigley was drunk August 14th when they gave him a ride home from the Willmar American Legion. They say when they got to his house in Southwest Willmar he became combative, kicked a police officer, ran into the house and later appeared at a window pointing a gun at officers.

Quigley faces a felony charge of 1st Degree Assault-Use of Deadly Force Against a Peace Officer and gross misdemeanor 4th Degree Assault-Physically Assaulting a Peace Officer.

Unconditional bail has been set at $50,000, and no plea was entered at Wednesday’s hearing, and no future court date has yet been set.
